I was unfamiliar with
The D
isintegration L
oops
;
this article is both an interesting overview of
that piece of somber history and an invitation to participate in a new art project (hint, ttyymmnn).
Listen and read. It’s worth it.

I read that. The mysterious origins of the tune really add to its intrigue. Than you for sharing that.

This looks interesting. I’m going to have to dig into some of the links to fully make sense of it all. I’ll admit, I am an entirely acoustic musician, and I don’t understand a lot of the technical jargon the author uses. Interestingly, my first thought upon hearing the motif at the end of the recording was how much it sounded like Vangelis’ soundtrack to Blade Runner, which I just rewatched a couple of weeks ago.
I will share this with a colleague in TN who might be able to make more sense out of it than I. And I reckon I’ll add my 2 cents. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I can’t claim to understand much of it, but it’s a fascinating blend of 20th and 21st century culture.

I need to read the Basinki interview. And it’s a long drink of water.

I said it was interesting; I didn’t claim it was comprehensible.

It’s (literally) time for my daughter’s piano practice, at least I have some new material now!
